Liam McCann - Arguments from Ignorance
Event description
A one-man improvised comedy debating show. You submit opinions at the door, and Liam will defend them, attack them, and link them together on the fly. The stand-up equivalent of writing an entire essay on the night it's due.
Liam McCann has been doing stand-up for 13 years and improv for 4 years. He also majored in Philosophy at uni. But he has nothing to argue about!
This is where you come in. You will be presented with pen and paper at the door, to submit as many divisive opinions as you can. Liam will then have to make arguments based on the opinions you provide - even if he knows nothing about the subject matter.
Some opinions, he'll have to defend with all his might. Some opinions, he'll have to criticise and lampoon. You may even see a special guest pop in to force Liam into arguing against a topic of their expertise!
Expect an hour of improvised, cantankerous hilarity.
ABOUT LIAM MCCANN
Liam McCann has been performing stand-up since 2010. Fired up and highly opinionated, he hit the ground running, getting runner-up in the 2011 Class Clowns NSW State Final at only 17. He has since grown into his anger, examining issues big and small with a critical eye.
Liam's perspectives are unique -- his viewpoints are so out of left field, he practically lives there. With a mix of social commentary, everyday observations, and philosophical musings, Liam's insightful wit has earned him spots at the Sydney Fringe Festival and the Sydney Comedy Festival. He hopes to pursue a career in stand-up so he will never earn enough to cross the HECS repayment threshold.
*Doors and bar open at 7pm for a 7:30pm start. Please arrive ahead of show time so we can get your opinions ready for Liam.
