AROHANUI - a Journey back to Self
Event description
AROHANUI means Big Love in Māori
And that's what this 3 hour Healing & Yarning Circle for Survivors of DV is all about...Creating a safe & nurturing space together to hold each other as we begin to journey back home to our whole Self.
As a Woman with lived experience of DV & Sexual Assault it was a conversation with another Woman who also had Lived Experience that really made a difference to myself and my healing journey.
More so than any of the therapists I’d seen to that point…
WHY?
Because I felt SEEN
And I felt HEARD
Probably for the first time EVER
I felt SAFE to share my story
I knew I wouldn’t be judged
She didn’t offer solutions
Or ask the unanswerable, ‘Why didn’t you just leave?’
Nope.
We actually LAUGHED OUT LOUD retelling some of the more ridiculous experiences…and I can’t tell you the freedom that gave me.
I wasn’t afraid to come out of the shadows of shame
That shrouded much of my life
And I realised I WASN’T ALONE
Nor was I the ONLY ONE
FAST FORWARD twenty years and a LOT OF HEALING WORK, I’m passionate about sharing the tools I’ve learnt along the way. Tools that literally changed my life, even saved it...
So join other Women navigating their own journey home for 3 hours of Healing & Yarning…with opportunities to connect through conversation over beautiful, nourishing herbal tea and snacks followed by deep Restorative Yoga and sound therapy, maybe Breathwork, maybe Movement, writing and ritual. A fluid and intuitive workshop guided by the group experience and desire.
I’ve also partnered with my own Naturopath Kristy Hollis of Everlasting Health NT who will share her specially curated herbal teas designed to NOURISH & CALM your heart and soul. Kristy will also introduce you to flower essences to SUPPORT your healing journey.
And each person will receive a gift pack from Everlasting Health to continue your healing at home.
Tickets are just $25 each with thanks to funding from The Awesome Women’s Collective.
Please note: Spaces available for just 10 Women per workshop
