Art All Night Mini Markt + Live Art + Craft Station
Event description
The Heurich House Museum will celebrate local craft with its 3rd annual Art All Night: Dupont Circle “Mini Markt” on Saturday, September 28, 2024 from 4pm-midnight in the Museum’s biergarten, 1921. Meet and shop from 10 local artisans & makers, participate in live community art, craft with your family, enjoy a specially curated menu of beers from DC Brewers’ Guild members, and more.
The special edition “Mini Markt” will feature makers in their first 5 years of business who will sell their wares - including handmade candles, jewelry, pottery, clothing, art prints, and more. Vendors will be announced during September on the museum’s Instagram, @heurichhouse.
Candice Luebbering, local maker of All Mapped Out, will lead guests in a live participatory art activation, repurposing beer yokes (the plastic holder that connects cans in a 6-pack). The project is inspired by the legacy of crafting quilts - where it is not uncommon for the fabric to be upcycled into wearable items like jackets, vests, or even jumpsuits!
Schedule:
- 4pm - midnight: 1921 Biergarten Open
- 4pm - 6pm: Family Friendly Get Crafty! Activity
- 7pm - midnight: Maker Market + Participatory Art Activation with Candice Luebbering of All Mapped Out
This celebration is rooted in our belief that museum’s should be relevant to our modern communities. The museum’s Urban Manufacturing Incubator works to support the local small-scale manufacturing community in DC, which is composed of two groups: Artisan Makers + Craft Beverage Producers. These groups are directly related to Heurich history - the historic mansion was built and decorated by local craftspeople from 1892-1894 and the Chr. Heurich Brewing Co. (1872-1956) produced DC’s hometown beer brand for over 80 years.
The museum’s biergarten, 1921, which is located in the historic carriage house and beautiful Castle Garden, features Oktoberfest tables and fire pits, just south of Dupont Circle. This event is free to attend. RSVPs are requested, but not required.
Please note the historic house will not be open. Guests interested in visiting can book a tour online for another date.

About Art All Night:
Art All Night 2024 is a chance for the city to celebrate the performing and visual arts. September 27 and 28, DC will be the center stage showcasing our city's talent diversity. The event highlights the intersection of art and business throughout our commercial corridors, placing artists on the center stage. Art All Night is a collaboration between the D.C. Department of Small and Local Business Development (DSLBD), D.C. Commission on the Arts and Humanities Department (DCCAH), D.C. Public Library (DCPLS), and the D.C. Main Streets programs, and the Business Improvement Districts. Each participating neighborhood will be a catalyst for corridor revitalization by highlighting music, visual, literary and performing arts, activating public spaces, bringing new foot traffic to small and local businesses within the corridor, and bringing an increase in business sales compared to a typical weekend night. The festival will host different activations each night, bringing visual and performing arts, including painting, photography, sculpture, crafts, fashion, music, dance, theater, film, and poetry, to indoor and outdoor public and private spaces, including local businesses and restaurants.
