Art & Faith Forum

Event description

Calling all creatives, artists, music lovers and theologians. We’re excited to invite you to the first Art & Faith Forum, hosted by For Cleveland, on Saturday, September 7th. This event will bring together a diverse group of researchers, practitioners, and ministry leaders to explore the intersections of theology and beauty. Our panel will feature internationally-renowned writer and professor Dr. Jeremy Begbie (Duke Divinity School, Cambridge University), spoken-word artist and master storyteller Chris Webb, Dr. Jimeka Holloway, founder of TriFyre, and Rebecca Shasberger, founder of Renovare. Together, they will discuss creativity and the Kingdom of God in what promises to be an inspiring conversation.

Following the panel there will be a screening of the film “Look & See: A Portrait of Wendell Berry,” which offers a compelling vignette of the poet-farmer whose faith and vocation have awarded him fellowships by Guggenheim and Rockefeller Foundations, Thomas Merton Award, and even the National Endowment  Medal by a President. Begbie will present one of his captivating “lecture recitals.” Known for their depth and artistic richness, these performances are usually reserved for academic and museum settings, so this is a unique opportunity to experience his musical teaching in an intimate environment. Doors open at 3:30 PM, and dinner options will be emailed to all registrants. We hope you can join us for an evening of thought-provoking discussion and artistic inspiration.
