Art Classes - Totally free! (Term Four)
Event description
Free Community Art Class – Explore a World of Creativity
Fridays | July 25 – September 19 | 1:00–2:00pm | Craig Family Centre, Ashburton
Following the great success of Term 3, our Community Art Class returns! This welcoming, volunteer-led program is open to adults of all skill levels and offers a chance to learn new techniques, connect with others, and enjoy a friendly, supportive environment.
🌿 Optional Grounding (12:30–1:00pm)
Before the art class begins, join Moon—our qualified art therapist—for an optional mindfulness and breathwork session. This calming exercise helps us gather our thoughts and be fully present before diving into creativity.
🎨 What to Expect Each Week
🖌️ Rotating Artists & Mediums
Enjoy a variety of art experiences, with different volunteer artists leading the sessions. Learn from Kylie, Kana, Moon, HiuYing and others.
🎨 Diverse Art Forms
Across the term you’ll explore watercolours, air-drying clay, Christmas card making, and more exciting mediums.
👥 Volunteer-Led Variety
Each volunteer teaches for two weeks, sharing their own specialty—ensuring every session feels fresh, unique, and inspiring.
🪑 Relaxed, Flexible Space
Not ready to dive into art just yet? Bring along your own craft project and enjoy the social atmosphere.
💡 Want to Teach?
We’re always looking for new volunteers to share their artistic knowledge. If you’d like to lead a future session, email communityprograms@craigfc.org.au.
