Peter MacCallum Cancer Centre is a world-leading cancer research, treatment and education centre, and Australia's only public health service dedicated to the treatment and care of people with cancer. Established in 1949, and housed within Melbourne’s biomedical precinct and the iconic Victorian Comprehensive Cancer Centre since 2016, Peter Mac has led an era of remarkable change in cancer care. The award-winning façade and light-filled, airy spaces are elegant and soothing. Purples, pinks and whites are punctuated by natural timber, expertly woven into the fluid lines of the vast interior, creating a therapeutic space for more than 40,000 patients annually.
