Meet textile artist Aukje in residence at this year's Art from Trash exhibition. She will showcase a small range sustainable couture, talk and demonstrate the process of remaking discarded or outdated clothing, and present 'The Cost of Fast Fashion '- a presentation covering landfill problems, pollution and appalling working conditions of many textile workers in the textile industry.
Each year, we ask the community to help support our co-op to run this exhibition through donations. You can find a donation box in the gallery on the day or can donate anytime via this page. After surviving flood, fire and covid, our co-op would greatly appreciate any support from the community to help keep this annual art exhibition going.
