Art of the Human Body with Yilian Basser
The human body has always been a major source of curiosity and artistic inspiration. Join us, as we learn about ourselves and each other through studying the art of the human body.
Dates: 4 weekly sessions starting Tuesday 30th November
Time: 6.30pm to 8.30pm
Cost: $132.00 (includes model fees)
In this course, students will have the opportunity to develop their own artistic practice around the human body, whilst developing skills in drawing and partaking in fortnightly life drawing sessions. Classes will include technical instruction, anatomical study, life drawing, and art theory.
In this course we will:
- learn to structure complex forms through simplified shapes
- improve observational skills
- create dynamic lively figure drawings
- study human anatomy for art
- learn about light and shadow, and how it creates form
- explore beautiful, expressive mark-making
- apply your skills through studies of the life model
- discuss historical and contemporary artworks of the human body
This course is a follow of from Part 1, 2 & 3, but is also open to new students
Part 4: The force of You

- projection and perception
Who is this course for?
This course is suitable for students of all levels of experience. This course is primarily dedicated to drawing but can accommodate those working in other media.
Students are required to bring the following materials:
- a3 Sketchbook, HB,2B,4B,6B pencils, kneadable eraser
