The Art of the Trinket. Wax Carving Workshop
Description
The Art of the Trinket: Wax Carving Workshop
Get ready to turn your creative ideas into wearable art.
Inspired by Katie Bourchier’s residency at the Ipswich Art Gallery, this hands-on workshop invites you to dive into the magic of lost-wax carving. While Katie explores myth, narrative and adornment in her studio, you’ll be learning the skills to create your own personal talisman.
In this relaxed 2-hour session, you will learn how to sculpt, carve and shape jewellers wax into a unique trinket. This workshop is not for rings — we will be focusing on pendants, small objects or charms.
What’s in Store
• Creative Carving: Learn the basics of impressing, carving and engraving wax to create a one-of-a-kind design.
• Beginner Friendly: This workshop is perfect for those new to wax carving and jewellery-making.

Additional items may be made during the session, however second pieces will incur an additional charge to cover materials and casting fees.
What to Bring
• Inspiration: If you already have a design idea, please bring along a reference image.
To keep your piece at a nice trinket scale, designs must be a maximum of 4 cm x 4 cm.
