Art opening ‘Invisible Places’ by Hugo Garay, curated by Kristia Moises
Event description
Invisible Places
This body of photographic work arises from long walks through the city, resulting in a series of spontaneous captures of urban scenes. Through these images, subjects and settings are presented isolated from their usual context, revealing details that often go unnoticed in the bustling everyday life.
The use of black and white photographic film adds a layer of authenticity and simplicity, allowing each shot to maintain the purity of the captured reality. Without alterations or interactions with the subjects, a subtly abstract atmosphere is created, distancing itself from the purely documentary.
This series does not seek to tell stories but rather to delight in mere observation. Each photograph invites the viewer to pause and contemplate those imperceptible moments and intricate features, amplifying the beauty of the everyday and offering a new perspective on cityscapes.
