Native Planting event Markham Forest, with Art!

A wonderful community event including planting native plants, art and a free BBQ as well as a bird tour to finish off the day.

1000 indigenous plants to plant plus an exhibition of art from two local acclaimed artists.

Holes will be pre dug to make the planting as efficient as possible!!

We have Uncle Glenn Loughrey and Russell Shiells' to provide the creative element to the day.  Their work will be showcased offering insights to their work. Not only will this be a celebration of their art it will also include a reading of Uncle Glenns' book, Prayer for River, written with the former Yarra Riverkeeper Andrew Kelly. Uncle Glenn will also deliver the Acknowledgement at the start of the event.

Artwork will be available to purchase.

A bird Walk led by Gillian Jervis our KKA Treasurer and Board Member of Birdlife Australia will take place at the end of the BBQ ,10 person limit (Sign up sheet on registration).
