Art-Science Investigation-Tree Stories — GET WILD ABOUT WETLANDS
Event description
Art-Science Investigation – Tree Stories
Discover the hidden beauty of trees through science, art, and storytelling in this hands-on workshop with Sabrina Dowling Giudici.
This immersive workshop invites children and families to explore native trees from a fresh perspective. It begins with the chance to observe a leaf under a microscope—revealing the intricate cellular patterns hidden within. Participants can sketch their findings and respond through drawing, note-taking, and personal reflection. Glass artworks by Sabrina will also be on display, showing how science can inspire creative expression.
In the second half, participants will craft a story inspired by their tree—bringing together memory, imagination, and connection to place. Whether it’s a family tree, a childhood memory, or a favourite species, each story will reflect the ways trees root us to our surroundings and each other. Participants are welcome to bring intergenerational stories collected from parents or grandparents to enrich the storytelling.
