Chiroptera Minima: Adults-Only Bat Night Stalk
Event description
Chiroptera minima: An Adults-only Bat Night Stalk*
Guided by the legendary Joe Tonga. Explore the unseen world of microbats in the Beeliar through echolocation, discovery, and flight.
As the sun dips below the banksias and the stillness of twilight settles in, another world begins to stir—silent, swift, and utterly spellbinding. This is your invitation into that world.
Join renowned “Batman” Joe Tonga, one of Western Australia’s most captivating conservationists, for a rare adults-only evening at the Beeliar Wetlands. With his encyclopaedic knowledge and theatrical delivery, Joe reveals the hidden life of microbats in their natural habitat—and yes, you’ll hear them, see them, and never forget them.
Slip into the dusky hush of the wetlands. As the canopy darkens and shadows stretch, you’ll walk among whispering leaves, open skies, and the thrilling unknown. Nature’s theatre offers no guarantees—but when it delivers, it is extraordinary.
Enjoy drinks and nibbles as you take in this magical twilight experience, guided by one of the best in the field.
