Location

184 Hope Road, Bibra Lake WA 6163

Entry

Free. All ages welcome.

How it works

  1. Bring a charged phone or tablet.

  2. No app required.

  3. Scan the QR codes on site.

  4. Place the AR creature on a surface, then tap to explore.

What to expect

Step into the wetlands and watch them come alive. The Augmented Reality Wetlands Trail invites you to see native animals and plants appear through your device in the places they call home. Scan a code, set a creature on the landscape, and follow its story as art, science and country meet in a gentle, hands-on experience for all ages.

Created by artist-in-residence Nidia Hansen (NH Lumina), the trail reveals small wonders you might otherwise miss. A bird you hear but cannot spot. A plant you pass without knowing its name. Each AR moment opens a doorway to care, curiosity and conversation. Come as a family, a school group, or on your own. Take your time. Let the place do the talking.

Good to know

  • Suits all ages. Children should be supervised.

  • Paths mostly accessible for prams and wheelchairs.

  • Allow 30 to 60 minutes for a relaxed visit.

  • Bring water, a hat and comfortable shoes.

  • Photos are welcome. Please share and tag The Wetlands Centre.

Why come now

Spring at Bibra Lake is alive with sound and colour. This short season is the perfect time to learn the names and stories of the species that live here, and to see how small actions help care for a fragile place that belongs to all of us.
