Event description
Shadows and Stories: A Noongar Journey Through Nature
Come along and experience a vibrant new program celebrating Noongar culture through art, storytelling, and nature play. Nature Create is an inclusive, creative series of activities designed for families and children of all abilities, set in the beautiful natural surroundings of Bibra Lake—traditionally a place of women and birth.
Led by proud Noongar woman and Cultural Educator Rickeeta Walley, this program offers a unique opportunity to connect with First Nations culture and country. Through Noongar shadows, storytelling, and hands-on art experiences, children will explore their creativity while learning about the deep relationship between Noongar people and the natural world.
This intergenerational program supports wellbeing, celebrates children’s ideas, and encourages meaningful engagement with ancient culture and language. Rickeeta brings her passion for cultural knowledge and preservation to every session, creating a welcoming space for learning and connection.
