Event description

North Sydney for the Voice, the Chinese Australian Forum, and Stanton Library are pleased to present a selection of works from artists Tim Johnson and Malera Bandjalan, Mitakoodi woman Kyra Kum-Sing. Their works, which will be exhibited from 17-19 August at Stanton Library, reflect the influences of culture and spirituality in our lives, and will set the scene for a thoughtful conversation about modern Australia.

Join us on opening night, Thursday 17 August 5.30pm-7:30pm, for a panel discussion about the experiences of cultural and lingustically diverse artists in our community, and how these experiences have shaped their views on the Voice.

  • 5:30pm - Nibbles and drinks, art viewing, and "Indigenous Australia and Me" K-6 art competition award presentation.
  • 6pm-7:30pm - Please join Kylea Tink MP in conversation with artist Tim Johnson, as they explore the influences of First Nations and Asian cultures and spirituality in his paintings. Kylea will then facilitate a discussion with Dr Shireen Morris and Te-Raina Watego, reflecting on why the Voice to Parliament is so important from their perspectives as Australians from diverse communities.

Please register early as tickets are limited.
