Art Sparks Studio School Holiday Art Workshops - October 2024

Art Sparks Studio NZ is back and we are celebrating Spring with three new School Holiday Art Workshops in October!

Art Sparks Studio offers a beautiful, fun and well thought out arts programme integrating Mathematics, Language, Geography, History, and of course Visual Arts for children aged 8-12 years old. Each day is themed and "sparked" by nature, world cultures and creations of renowned artists. We place great emphasis on mindfulness, self-awareness, individuality, life skills, movements and creativity. The workshops are purposely kept small to allow ample space for creation, nurturing each child's focus and unique abilities. 

Join us for one or two or ALL THREE days of the Art Sparks Studio School Holiday Art Workshop this October. Our workshop runs from 9:30am to 3pm each day.

Tuesday, 8th October 2024 - Painting with Scissors
Art sparked and inspired by the vibrant cut-outs of Henri Matisse. We will explore composition and effectively using positive and negative spaces to "paint" using scissors and vibrant, colourful papers to create an art piece and a maquette of a spring themed stained-glass window.

Wednesday, 9th October 2024 - Scientific Sketching
Art sparked and inspired by the beautiful drawings of New Zealand native flora by Sarah Featon. We will delve into detailed scientific sketching of plants and flowers to record and communicate information with labels, diagrams and observations and will also spend the day with an introduction to printing.

Thursday, 10th October 2024 - The Secret Garden Stencils
Art sparked and inspired by Frances Hodgson Burnett's story of healing and restoration "The Secret Garden". We will use stencil making and printing skills to create our own version of "The Secret Garden" with a focus on wellbeing, self-expression using botanical shapes and joyful colours. 

These workshops will be held in the heart of "Wellywood" at the beautiful Te Tūhunga Rau, 108 Strathmore Avenue, Strathmore Park, Wellington. 

Our school holiday art workshops are suitable for children aged 8-12 years old. Book now as spaces are strictly limited!
