Interested in being part of the 2027 Art Trail SJ?
If you’re an artist based in the Shire of Serpentine Jarrahdale, join us for the Art Trail SJ Artist Information Night to find out more about this exciting community-led open studio trail and how you can get involved.
Art Trail SJ – Winter Awakening will take place from Saturday 5 to Monday 7 June 2027, with participating venues open 10am–4pm each day.

- Who can apply to participate in Art Trail SJ?
Art Trail SJ is primarily for artists within the Shire of Serpentine Jarrahdale. Priority will be given to local artists; however, if places are available, artists from outside the Shire may also be considered.
Full eligibility requirements and information about the application and selection process will be covered at the Information Night.
- Do I need to have my own studio?
No. Art Trail SJ can include artist studios as well as other suitable locations such as galleries, local businesses, community facilities and exhibition or workshop spaces. If you don’t have your own suitable studio or exhibition space, you will be responsible for finding and arranging a suitable venue within the Shire of Serpentine Jarrahdale.
- Do I need to have decided to participate before attending?
No. The Information Night is a chance to learn more about Art Trail SJ, ask questions and decide whether participating is right for you. There is no obligation to apply.
- When and how can I apply for Art Trail SJ?
Applications to participate in Art Trail SJ will open following the Artist Information Night. Information about how to apply, key dates and the application process will be provided on the night and shared through the Art Trail SJ website and social media channels.
- Do I need Public Liability Insurance?
Yes. Participating artists will be required to hold current Public Liability Insurance with a minimum cover of $20 million. More information about insurance requirements will be provided at the Information Night.
- Does it cost anything to attend the Information Night?
No. The Information Night is free to attend, and food and refreshments will be provided. Please RSVP to reserve your place.
- Who is behind Art Trail SJ?
Art Trail SJ is an artist-led, community-led initiative, developed and delivered by a working group of local artists and community representatives, with support from the Shire of Serpentine Jarrahdale.
The working group is helping shape the trail and bring it to life, with a focus on showcasing local creativity, connecting artists and encouraging visitors to explore the creative community of Serpentine Jarrahdale.
