Art Workshop with Susie Vickery

Susie Vickery’s career centres on embroidery and textiles,

both practical and academic and her core skills were

developed over twenty years as a costumier for theatre and

film. Over the last twenty years Susie has built expertise

in two further areas: development work and fine art embroidery.

In this workshop we will look closely at some of our beautiful native plants and

how to illustrate them with stitch, focussing on the Agonis flexuosa - peppermint tree, so emblematic of Busselton. Working from real foliage and using free-style hand embroidery we will embroider them, building up colour and texture. All materials will be provided but you may choose to bring a thimble and scissors.
