ArtBeat Studio presents: Charcoal and Still-Life Drawing Workshop

Have you always wanted to learn how to draw with charcoal? Maybe you've done it before and need a refresh? Or you've never done art before and have always wanted to try it out! 

ArtBeat Studio's first workshop: an introduction to charcoal and still-life drawing. This workshop dives into the basics of drawing practice. Guests who participate in this session will be able to translate the visual nature of the still-life object in front of them into a small collection of drawing works. The outcome of this workshop will also provide guests with a base foundation of drawings for their portfolio, hobby, or building of their artistic practice.  

This session is about learning the basics of the artist's tools and practicing charcoal drawings in a light and approachable manner through skill-sharing while creating a community of creatives and artists. 

Tools such as paper, A5 sketchpads, charcoals, erasers, and drawing boards will be provided. If you have your own sketchbooks and tools you prefer using, please feel free to bring them along!

Who are we? 

ArtBeat Studio is an independent creative collective offering workshops and guided art sessions to their community. They aim to bridge the gap between the arts and their wider community of artists who do not have traditional arts institution backgrounds. They believe that art should be shared through a community fundamentally built on curiosity and knowledge-seeking. ArtBeat welcomes those who seek to re-contextualize the art space, those who seek to understand their place in it, and those who are just curious about the arts!
