artconnexDC Presents: A Curator's Tour of "DC Art Now 2026" & Behind-the-Scenes Visit to the CAH Art Bank Vault

Join artconnexDC for a curator tour of the DC Commission on the Arts and Humanities (CAH) Eye Street Gallery and its current exhibition, DC Art Now 2026, led by CAH Curator Michelle May-Curry. The exhibition tour will be followed by a behind-the-scenes visit to CAH's Art Vault, where the DC government's permanent fine art collection is stored when not on view, led by CAH Registrar Luisa Hammond. Please note: if you'd like to join the vault tour, please bring a photo ID and be prepared to pass through metal-detector security screening. Happy hour to follow at Bluejacket.

6pm Happy Hour at Bluejacket (300 Tingey St SE #180, Washington, DC 20003)

About the Exhibition:

In support of local visual artists and District art nonprofit organizations, the DC Commission on the Arts and Humanities acquires fine art from artists living and working across the metropolitan region. The ongoing and annual acquisition of art becomes a part of the  Art Bank Collection and is then loaned to District Government agencies for display in public areas and offices of government buildings. The Art Bank Collection, which started in 1986, has over 3,000 artworks. DC Art Now 2026 is an annual exhibition of select work by finalists for the FY27 Art Bank Program grant. It features many of the most exciting emerging and established artists working in the DC metropolitan region today.
