Arthurs Seat Picnic
Event description
🌿 Picnic at Arthurs Seat – Sunday 9 November at Arthurs Seat (Wonga)
Join us for a community picnic at Arthurs Seat — a peaceful gathering to celebrate and protect this precious public place.
The State Government is considering a proposal by the Arthurs Seat Eagle to build a luge ride, a 25-metre tower and expanded commercial precinct on public parkland. We believe these developments are out of place in a State Park and on the traditional lands of the Boon Wurrung / Bunurong people — land we all share the responsibility to protect.
Bring your picnic, friends, kids and signs and join us for an afternoon of connection, conversation and care for Wonga (Arthurs Seat). Expect BBQs, local speakers, music, maps, plans and information about what’s proposed — and how we can work together to say no to the luge, no to the tower, and yes to nature and community.
Let’s show the Minister, Parks Victoria, and the world that we don’t need thrill rides to love this place.
We just need to keep it wild, open, and shared.
