Have an exciting concept for a solo, group, or community exhibition and don’t know where to start?
Join Community and Public Programs Officer, Kathleen O’Hagan, to discuss the ins-and-outs of applying for the Ipswich Community Gallery EOI for 2025 / 26.
What we’ll cover:
Introducing your practice: Learn the difference between an Artist CV, Artist Statement, and Artist Biography and how to employ them to your advantage!
Crafting your Exhibition Rationale: Consider the key aspects of writing an engaging exhibition rationale including clearly articulating the exhibition’s key themes, objectives, and display.
Meeting Assessment Criteria: Evaluate the Ipswich Community Gallery’s Assessment Criteria, including – Clarity, Innovation, Quality, Curatorial, and Diversity – and how your potential application fits the bill.
Understanding the Space: Explore the strengths and limitations of the Ipswich Community Gallery, and the best way you can target your application to fit within and utilise the exhibition space!
Showcasing your vision: We’ll discuss the best way to bring your portfolio and exhibition ideas to life, to clearly communicate your vision in a variety of visually engaging ways.
Engaging your audience: Explore how you can directly engage your audience prior, during and after your exhibition run to get the most out of your exhibition experience.
Over the course of this workshop, gain confidence in and learn the basic skills necessary to apply for any exhibition space!
