Artificial Intelligence is here to stay and brings great promise. According to PwC’s AI research study, if used wisely, AI can contribute up to $15.7 trillion to the economy by 2030. This will be a game changer and will generate benefits across all sectors.

However, there are rising concerns related to AI ethics. Time and again, the assumption that “ethical people will develop ethical technology” has proven to be incorrect and now is the time to have discussions among highly qualified AI Experts from big companies like Big 4s and DBS about safeguards that need to be in place in order to align our AI with values of our organization.

Currently, the greatest challenge for AI leaders from big businesses is to strike a balance between protecting their enterprise IP vs providing transparency to the public. In order to remain trustworthy, the leaders need to define, beyond developing guidelines and recommendations, tangible actions to address ethical issues around fairness, privacy and accountability.
