This workshop is tailored to empower artists in mastering the skill of crafting effective funding applications for their projects. Covering key aspects of proposal writing, participants will gain insights into articulating project goals, defining clear objectives, and presenting a compelling case for support. The session will provide practical guidance on budget development, articulating the project's impact, and aligning with the priorities of potential funders. With a focus on demystifying the application process, this workshop aims to equip artists with the tools and knowledge to confidently navigate funding opportunities, ensuring their creative endeavors receive the support they deserve.

Through hands-on exercises and constructive feedback, artists will gain the confidence and tools needed to navigate the competitive process of funding applications.

This is a small group session - maximum 10 people.

Who is your host?

Melania Jack is the programs co-ordinator for NorthSite and has 15 years of experience as an artist and facilitator. With a multi-arts practice, video, sound, performance, installation and projection, Melania has exhibited locally and internationally and is part of the award-winning duo, The Ironing Maidens. Melania has a Masters in Creative Industries and is passionate about creating opportunities for regional artists.

What is Artist Connect?

Artist Connect is an informal group that aims to connect local artists and provide a collegial support network. Held on the last Tuesday of each month the group meets to upskill in artist and artist business-related themes such as marketing your art through social media and other skills according to the group's needs.

General admission for non-members is $25. For those experiencing financial hardship there is a tiered system. Tickets are refundable up to 24 hours prior to workshop. If you cannot attend, please let us know so someone can take your place.
