About World Wide Webs

April Phillips, assisted by Alex Lundy, ignites the site with a resonance of the digital realm into physical form – translated as handprinted material produced and presented at Megalo Print Studio. Led by the perspective of a femme spider, World Wide Webs digs into the innate girl-hood desire for uninterrupted computer time…chat rooms abuzz with international communications, windows revealing treasures, self made websites, collective knowledges, shared links, games, archives and iterative creation.

Artist Floor Talk w/ April Phillips
Time: 12pm
When: Friday 23 October 2026
Where: Megalo Print Studio, 21 Wentworth Ave KINGSTON. Ngunnawal Ngambri Country.

Megalo presents World Wide Webs in partnership with Canberra Art Biennial.

About the artist

April Phillips is a Wiradjuri-Scottish woman of the Galari / Kalari peoples, living and working between Canberra and the far south coast of NSW. Her art practice is cemented in futurism, visual arts and digital technologies; as lead artist / director working across moving image, illustration and design. April’s practice combines digital outputs with analogue materials and processes including drawing, printmaking, photography ceramics and glass. April makes ambitious outcomes by leading in collaborative environments including skilled crafts people, technicians and creatives to realise ambitious projects, leading teams to do big things. April employs character design as a narrative tool to explore empathy, fun and form. Her use of vivid colour and unlikely digital processes celebrates the potential of computer art for a new world.
