Event description

Have you ever felt motivated to be creative after reading a particularly powerful story? Here's your chance to try out pastel painting! We have three sessions where you can create your own pastel painting in response to three different novels! 

Session 1 (Friday July 26): Remarkably Bright Creatures by Shelby Van Pelt

Session 2 (Saturday August 24): Whale Fall by Elizabeth O’Connor

Session 3 (Saturday September 28) 1-2:30 pm: Stars of Alabama by Sean Dietrich

No need to have ANY artistic experience, but experienced artists are welcome. 

Local pastel artist Ali Wiese introduces some basic pastel techniques and stimulates your creative process. All materials are provided and you will go home with a framed pastel painting.

Unable to attend? Take home a kit! Complete with instructions and all the materials you will need to complete the art project. Kits are $20.
