Artist Talk: Personal Practice and Public Space

Join ART AID Gallery and accomplished Australian artist Georgia Hill for "Personal Practice and Public Space," an artist talk that explores Hill's artistic journey and approach to creative thinking. From studio practice through to interior design, sculpture, and large scale public art and infrastructure projects, Georgia offers us a glimpse into the world of a full-time professional contemporary artist.

About Georgia

Georgia Hill (b. 1988) is an Australian multidisciplinary artist, working prolifically across exhibitions, large-scale murals, installations and commissioned projects across The United States, Canada, India, New Zealand, Iceland, Japan, Indonesia, and across Australia’s states. Hill's works utilise type, texture and scale to forge a bold, abstract visual vocabulary, exploring and deconstructing the structure of language, architecture, environments and our human connections. Her work is founded in dualities - monochromatic black and white, a mix of the meticulous and spontaneous, capturing moments of emotion - from overwhelm, melancholy and anticipation to curiosity and hope.

Exhibition: 'TO BE AND DO'

The talk will be held within her most recent solo exhibition 'TO BE AND DO'. Stemming from a need to constantly move, consume, connect and reflect, 'To Be And Do' showcases Hill's creative practice across fabric installation, large-scale murals and painted canvas works. Renowned for her monochromatic palette and constant exploration of materiality and scale, Hill's works abstract the textures and structures found in language, environments, and architecture into new surreal scenes.
