Culturally-informed Curation & Artistry with Haus of Ralph
Description
Presented at 聞鳥憶君 Exhbition & GAMA Studio
How can culturally-informed curation and artistry build an audience of literally anyone and everyone?
Gather around visionary, partymaker, music producer, DJ and founder of CLUBHAUS - Haus of Ralph, as they talk with Jon.
Through centring stories and voices of East and Southeast Asian communities, HoR has successfully engaged a diverse audience of what it feels to be almost everyone?
While the general population are leaving the house less and less due to the cost of living crisis, putting Victoria at risk of becoming an artless state, HoR and CLUBHAUS remain a cultural powerhouse. Selling over 1,200 tickets to OPENHAUS, a day to night party on the iconic China Town carpark, among many other successful parties and festivals.
This exhibition marks the speaking debut of HoR. For the first time ever, HoR will open up about their process and experience with the arts and music industry. They’ll give insights on the challenges they face, and how they use their imagination and creativity to foster inclusive, accessible party spaces that allow the arts to exist outside colonial frameworks.
Expect a highly nuanced read on what the future holds for diversity in the arts and learn what it really means to empower and innovate, with cultrually-coded practice and law.
Come with an open mind, pen and paper.
