Please join us alongside eight artists from the 2026 Craft + Design Canberra Emerging Contemporaries exhibition for a shared conversation exploring material practice, creative development and what it means to emerge as a contemporary maker today. United as a cohort, the artists reflect on their intersecting journeys while revealing the distinct approaches that shape their work. 

Following the discussion, guests are invited to stay for a closing celebration, offering an opportunity to continue the conversation and engage directly with the artists. 

Speakers include Sarah Brown, Jake Haynes, Isaac Kozlovskis, Jenn Morton, Eliott June O’Dowd and Rosalie Ryan.

• This Artist Talk is hosted at Craft + Design Canberra. Please note there is a lift from the ground-floor foyer if you are not able to use the stairs.

2026 Craft + Design Canberra Emerging Contemporaries is Craft + Design Canberra’s prestigious award exhibition celebrating the next generation of designers and makers. Showcasing works by early career artists from leading local institutions, including Canberra Potters Society, Canberra Institute of Technology, and the ANU School of Art + Design, this exhibition highlights the diverse talent shaping the future of craft and design. 

2026 Craft + Design Canberra Emerging Contemporaries is more than a showcase; it plays a vital role in nurturing early career practitioners, supporting their transition into professional practice. Join us in celebrating the creativity and potential of these exceptional emerging artists who represent the vibrant future of contemporary craft and design.
