Event description

Join us in the gallery for floor talks with several artists in the churchie emerging art prize 2023. Facilitated by guest curator Sebastian Henry-Jones, hear insights into the practices and works of our emerging early-career finalists.

the churchie emerging art prize is one of Australia’s leading prizes for emerging artists. The finalists’ exhibition provides a survey of the compelling and diverse work being produced by early-career artists today. This year's exhibition features works by thirteen finalists from across Australia in an exploration of the theme of context.

Featuring works by Alrey Batol, Amanda Bennetts, Dylan Bolger, Luke Brennan, Matthew Brown, Raf McDonald, Corben Mudjandi, Melody Paloma, Roberta Joy Rich, Joel Spring, Jess Tan, Debbie Taylor-Worley, and Ash Tower.

Then at 1pm, join us for a talk from this year's guest judge Tara McDowell, Director of Curatorial Practice and Associate Professor at Monash University.
