Come and celebrate the closing of Wam Wardanup / Strangers on the Shore and join us for a series of artist talks, a performance by celebrated clarinet player Ashley Smith and some light refreshments.
The diverse works in this exhibition offer a conversation about the Western Australian coastline as a charged space for intercultural encounters from the 1600s onwards. The artists tackle this space through a series of epic installation works, screen print, painting, bark work, digital print, woven work, animation and museum artefact. The works are a poignant, sensitive and aesthetically striking engagement with the idea of the wam/stranger on the wardanup/shore.
