Artist Workshop: Commercial glass as an artistic medium
Event description
Join the Cooling Brothers team for an industry-first workshop designed to inform, educate, and inspire new possibilities at the intersection of commercial glass, decorative technology and public art.
Held in partnership with Apparatus, this workshop will provide visual artists and designers with a deep dive into the aesthetic and functional possibilities decorative glass technology offers within commercial projects.
Enjoy a detailed learning program covering decorative outcomes for commercial glass, including techniques for controlling natural and artificial light, translating physical artwork to a digital workspace, and how to develop slip rating compliant artworks for non slip ceramic inks. Participants will also receive a behind-the-scenes look at our factory operations through an exclusive tour following the workflow of decorative glass in production.
This workshop is free to attend, with morning tea and lunch provided. If you’re an artist or designer seeking to integrate glass into your project or explore new creative horizons in public art, this is one not to be missed.
Registration is essential to secure your seat. Please note due to workshop capacity places are strictly limited and will be allocated on a first come basis.

Guest Speakers
Caroline Di Costa, Creative Producer, Apparatus
Caroline works with artists, local authorities, governing bodies, architects, and contractors to make artist visions become a reality and in doing so aim to assist in the creation of meaningful outcomes. After many years in Architecture, Caroline found her passion for art and its importance in the public realm, applying her understanding of how thoughtful integrated artwork aids in positive architectural outcomes in both the landscape and built form.
Caroline’s passion for public art extends to the value it not only brings to the built environment but also the opportunities it creates for communities, local artists, collaborators, and fabricators. For Caroline, this contribution goes beyond and is perhaps more important than the realised artwork itself.
