'The Future of Community-run Arts in Sydney' - A Conversation

Presented by Artist Community Initiative and Sydney Craft Week 2026

Due to constant shifts in our creative landscape, community is more fragile than ever. We are in desperate need of real community connection.

This conference is aimed to support anyone impacted across the wider Australian Arts Community.

During this inaugural conference, we will primarily be looking at Visual Arts and Design in Sydney - however, we hope to touch on areas supportive/relevant/of concern shared throughout the creative sector.

During this conference we will:

• discuss sustainable Career practices

• invite conversation about Arts process and meaning

• share community initiatives and strategies

• hear from speakers with industry experience

• Live Q&A

• share/promote opportunities available

• share craft knowledge and expertise

• connect with other creatives
