Art Meets Commerce
Event description
Hear from three Wyndham based artists who discuss their journey turning creativity into a business. Artists Nandita Nadkarni, Bronwyn David, and Sasha Heath work in different mediums of creativity; public art, ceramics, and design. The panellists will talk about their trajectory from practising as an artist and pivoting into small business. They will discuss the rewards, challenges, and benefits of being a creative person and how to make a business out of a passion. There will be time for questions from audience members.

Sasha Heath, also known as hellotomato, is a multidisciplinary artist who enjoys bringing walls to life with her vibrant murals and playful illustrations. Her work is deeply inspired by the natural world and shaped by the character of each community she works with. Sasha sees public art as a way to create shared moments, artworks that speak to their surroundings and help people feel more connected to place. From the first sketch to the final brushstroke, Sasha loves the entire process, making sure each mural not only looks great but also feels like it truly belongs.

Acknowledgment of Country
Wyndham City Council recognises Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples as the first Peoples of Australia. We acknowledge the Bunurong and Wadawurrung Peoples as Traditional Owners of the lands on which Wyndham City operates. The Wadawurrung and Bunurong Peoples have and always will belong to the Werribee Yalook (river), creeks, stars, hills and red clay of this Country. We pay respect to their Ancestors and Elders who always have, and always will, care for Country and community today and for future generations.
