Level up - Exhibition opening - Seasons of Ren, Irene Torok
Event description
LEVEL UP is series of contemporary community gallery spaces spread across Wyndham. These spaces have been developed to provide emerging artists with an opportunity to showcase their work and support their transition into professional practice.
Join the artist to celebrate the opening of this exhibition and to present these new artworks to the world. This is a catered event and RSVPs are appreciated.
Seasons of Ren
Irene Torok’s work is rooted in a deep fascination with the natural world—its shifts, moods, and silences. Seasons is a series of landscape paintings that explores the emotional and atmospheric essence of nature across time. These landscapes are part remembered, part imagined echoes of real places transformed through memory, intuition, and creative freedom.
Torok defines her artistic style as Renism, a personal movement born from years of experimentation and refinement. This unique, multilayered oil painting technique involves building each work slowly over several sessions, creating depth, texture, and a quiet resonance that reveals itself gradually. For her, the process is as much about feeling as it is about form.
Seasons invites viewers into a contemplative space—one where nature is not simply observed but deeply felt. These paintings transcend representation, offering instead reflections of internal states shaped by the rhythms and cycles of the natural world.
Artist statement
My work is rooted in a deep fascination with the natural world—its shifts, moods, and silences. Seasons is a series of landscape paintings that explore the emotional and atmospheric essence of nature across time. These landscapes are part remembered, part imagined echoes of real places transformed through memory, intuition, and creative freedom.
I call my artistic style Renism, a personal movement defined by a unique, multilayered oil painting technique developed over years of experimentation. Each piece is built slowly over several sessions, allowing me to create depth, texture, and a sense of quiet resonance that reveals itself gradually. This process is as much about feeling as it is about form.
With over 30 completed works ranging from intimate studies to large-scale canvases, Seasons invites viewers into a contemplative space—one where nature is not just observed but felt. These paintings are not representations of landscapes, but rather reflections of internal states shaped by the rhythm and cycle of the natural world.
