Event description

Arts North West invites the community to a free workshop with Uralla-based ceramicist Andrew Parker.

Spend the day in this techniques-inclusive workshop which Andrew informally has titled "Everything you wanted to know about clay but were too afraid to ask". With a career start in 1976 and long career of experience to share, Andrew will take participants through a variety of approaches as the interest arises, including:

  • What the participants want to know (workshop to begin with a "getting to know you" session and general discussion)
  • Throwing - the no fiddling about direct method
  • Slip carved decoration - very similar to lino cut or wood block printing but easier
  • Making slabs without a roller - the quick and easy way (when you know how) ... and much more!

Morning tea and lunch provided, and all materials included.

Open to ages 16 and up.
