Arts Tuition with Bethany Neck Artist

‘Brush & Bloom’ An expressive watercolour & drawing class that encourages individual exploration of materials & methods.

Join artist Bethany Neck for this class, suitable for beginners or experienced artists. Our friendly group explores the fundamentals of drawing & watercolour skills. In the first lesson we'll do some fun, abstract exercises to introduce the watercolor techniques of ‘wet-on-wet' and 'wet- on -dry’.

In following sessions participants will bring their own resource photo, or object to draw & paint. Drawing allows us to plan for composition & color elements. Your photo resource might be from travel adventures or a magazine. Images might depict local fauna, flora or still- life. The choice is yours! Bethany will demonstrate elements of painting & design useful to incorporate in your skill set. We'll allow at least 2 weeks for participants to complete their artwork.

New! Please bring;

• A board of dimensions: 5cm depth x 33cm wide x 46cm height, no bigger.

This board will fit a taped A4 size sheet of paper for weekly classes, and an A3 size sheet of paper for your end of term project. 

• An ice -cube tray. Second hand is perfect!

The Community Centre provides basic materials, however participants are always welcome to bring their own.

Date: Starts Tuesday 22nd July 2025 for 10 weeks - 10 places only

Cost: $150 for 10 week course

Most materials are provided included in the fee, except for materials required for personal projects.

The class may visit gardens onsite for inspiration if weather is appropriate.
