Local community radio station ArtSound FM teams up with Live @ The Polo and Clandestino to offer a unique afternoon of film and live music!

From 12 noon until 4:30pm you'll be treated to a film screening (with popcorn!) and local music - the perfect way to spend a Sunday afternoon and support your local arts and music scene! This edition has a focus on reggae, roots, jazz, folk and roots music!

12:00pm - DOCUMENTARY FILM (free screening)

The amazing 2018 documentary RUDEBOY: The Story of Trojan Records lovingly explores how the legendary London record label Trojan Records played a leading role in the musical conquest of Great Britain by Jamaican music styles like Ska, Reggae, and Rocksteady.

Zambezi Sounds (Afro Reggae Roots)

Experience a night of Nyami Nyami mbira sound and the Zambezi river drumming - Afro and Reggae vibes to dance to with Irresistible rhythms, oodles of charm, palpable enjoyment, Zambezi Sounds is music for lovers of culture, for owners of dancing feet, for letting your hair down, for reviving your soul and reminding yourself what a beautiful world we live in. Featuring the full band with extra percussion along with keys, brass and m'bira section!

Joel Dreezer Quartet (Jazz + Funk)

Hailing from Canberra's vibrant jazz scene, the Joel Dreezer Quartet is a dynamic ensemble that blends technical virtuosity with deep emotional expression. The quartet is led by the multi-talented Joel Dreezer, who brings his skills on saxophone and flute to the forefront of the group's innovative sound. Known for his intricate compositions and masterful improvisation, Dreezer combines classical elegance with modern jazz spontaneity, crafting a sound that is both sophisticated and accessible. Three exceptional local talents round out the quartet: bassist Jeremy Tsuei, drummer Mark Levers, and guitarist Aidan Herstik. Each member's unique voice and perspective contribute to the ensemble's rich, multifaceted sound.

Kopasetc Duo (Folk + Acoustic)

Kopasetic are an indie-roots outfit gracing the capital with a melting pot of alt-folk, reggae and celtic fusion vibes. Their original sound is smothered in deft fingerstyle guitar, thought-provoking lyricism and worldly percussion. Usually enjoyed as a six-piece powerhouse, this special one-off feature will see Kopasetic via an unplugged acoustic appearance with songsmith and frontman Alec taking the stage with the bands percussionist James Briguglio. The duo are guaranteed to get the night moving with some smooth upbeat roots-reggae sounds delivered right to ya tympanic.
