Event description

Arty Types is run by me, Rebecca Prince. I am an Adelaide hills local artist, offering after school art programs each term for kids and teens. In my classes students are encouraged to challenge themselves and gain confidence through the process of artistic creativity and creative problem solving. Class atmosphere is non judgemental and relaxed, each student's creative individuality is also nurtured. We explore many different arts approaches and becoming absorbed in the present intuitive nature of creating.

ClASSES HAVE MOVED LOCATION! All kids term classes are run at Woorabinda Environment Centre in Stirling.

Please note: Term 3 dates are shorter and are a bit haphazard due to travel commitments. Please refer to individual class ticket info for details on exact dates. You will also receive an email once you have booked outlining the dates classes will be running.

Refund policy

To ensure a secure spot in the class, classes must be paid for upfront. There are no credits or refunds offered for a change of heart or a no show. However I offer make up class credits to those who have missed classes due to sickness or unforeseen circumstances when notice is given prior to the class. Notification must be given at least 8 hours before class starts if your child can not attend due to illness, this is different for special circumstances (acts of god etc). In catastrophic fire conditions, the art school reserves the right to be closed, make up sessions for resultant missed classes will be organised at a later date. Children must wear shoes at all times and arrive dressed in appropriate art clothes, Arty Types does not take responsibility for stained clothing. Children who exhibit disruptive, abusive or bullying behaviour to other class attendees, will be asked to leave the class after failure to heed 2 warnings (no refunds are awarded for this circumstance). Parents must be punctual for pickup times and if not, must notify the art teacher and make other arrangements for someone else to pick up their child. Children must not attend the class if they are sick. If your child arrives sick, they will be asked to wait outside the class and you will be called to come and pick them up. This is to ensure other students don't get sick and the teacher doesn't get sick as a result.

Arty Types is a small business run by me, Rebecca Prince, I am a local artist in the Adelaide Hills region and have been teaching kids and adults for 9 years. I have a Bachelor degree in Visual Arts and Design and my main arts practice involves watercolours and drawing. I have strong passion for and focus on Australian wildlife and bush habitat and this often comes through in my art class themes. My teaching approach involves nurturing and building creative confidence as well as general technical skill. I believe the key to unlocking ones creative abilities is to first trust and believe in yourself and ignore negative self talk, this is also an important rule for life in general. I run term classes, one off workshops, council workshops and School holiday kid's programs and I try to cover a wide array of materials and approaches in all of my workshops
