Join us for Native Butterflies in your Backyard part of our Backyards for Biodiversity Series with Habitat Connection Co.

Great for gardeners and nature enthusiasts alike, this session offers inspiration and practical steps to help attract native butterflies into people’s backyards. This workshop will provide you with practical tips to attract, identify and sustain native butterflies at home.

Topics include:

• How to design butterfly-friendly gardens

• Host plants for caterpillars and nectar plants for butterflies

• Common native butterfly species in your area

• Simple garden features to support butterflies (e.g. water, shelter, sunning spots)

Based on Kaurna Country on the Fleurieu Peninsula, Habitat Connection Co. helps people reconnect with nature by creating gardens that support native wildlife and strengthen local biodiversity. Through hands-on workshops and community education, we empower individuals to turn their own backyards into thriving habitat spaces.

Founded by Hannah Jones, a conservation and horticulture professional with over twelve years’ experience in consulting, design and environmental education, Habitat Connection Co. brings together a passion for native plants, ecology, and inspiring others to care for the natural world.
