Looking for a creative project that combines digital skills with a personal touch? Join us for this month’s ASCCA Clubs Forum as we explore how to create personalised gifts using Canva’s free edition.

Canva has become one of the most popular online design tools because it’s easy to use and allows anyone to create professional-looking designs without needing graphic design experience. Whether you’re making something for a birthday, family celebration, Christmas, or a club project, Canva offers countless possibilities.

This practical session will provide a brief introduction to what Canva can do, before showing you how to create simple, meaningful gifts using your own photos and designs. Best of all, many of these projects can be created in less than 30 minutes.

What You’ll Learn:

✅ Getting started with Canva’s free edition
✅ Uploading and using your own photos
✅ Creating personalised greeting cards and invitations
✅ Designing calendars featuring family photos
✅ Making photo collages and memory keepsakes
✅ Creating custom mugs, posters, notebooks and other printed gifts
✅ Designing social media graphics and club promotional materials
✅ Tips for downloading, printing and sharing your creations

We’ll also showcase some of the products that can be designed through Canva, demonstrating just how versatile the platform can be for both personal and club use.

Perfect for Clubs and Members

This session is ideal for:
• Creating family gifts and keepsakes
• Preserving memories through photo projects
• Developing creative digital skills
• Running simple project-based activities within your club
• Producing promotional materials and newsletters

The workshop component will be designed to fit within approximately 30 minutes, leaving plenty of time at the end for questions, discussion, and sharing ideas with fellow participants.

As always, our Clubs Forums provide a welcoming environment where members can learn practical digital skills, discover new hobbies, and connect with others across the ASCCA network.

Club Showcase Opportunity

We continue to invite clubs to present a short overview at the conclusion of the forum. Share your activities, introduce your club, and let prospective members know how they can get involved. Presentations can also be recorded and added to our ASCCA YouTube library.

Whether you’re looking for gift ideas, creative inspiration, or a new project to introduce to your club, we’d love you to join us.
