Join us in Odin's hall of Vahalla, the centre piece of Asgard, as we feast with Denmark's ALEFARM BREWING. The SBC kitchen has been slaving away to produce a feast fit for the Gods and perfectly matched with the distinctly Coopenhagen beers.

Alefarm Brewing is a Copenhagen-based craft brewery with a focus on modern hoppy offerings, a wide array of unique, flavorful farmhouse ales and full-bodied stouts, rich in flavor and character. The Chief Operating Officer, Britt Van Slyck of Alefarm will be joining us for the night to tell us their tale.

Tickets include a three course feast and FOUR Alefarm beers tapped exclusively for the event.

THE BEERS

TIME RUNS THROUGH YOUR FINGERS 8.0% ABV - Double IPA dry-hopped with Topaz, Mosaic and Citra BBC. Classic Alefarm DIPA. Bittersweet to start with notes of tropical fruits and mandarins.

SOARING SKIES 6% ABV - A kveik ale fermented with a special kveik yeast strain named Opshaug with quite the story behind it (join us to find out!). By using this kveik strain, the aim was to produce a lightly hopped ale that allows the esters to be prominent. The addition of the American oak chips was made to give a light, oaky character and bring forward subtle tannins as a nod to the farmhouse style of beer production that kveik was developed with.⁣⁣

HOPE INSIDE THE FIRE 6% - An IPA that's been dry-hopped with Citra and Citra BBC.

ETERNITY IS A MATTER OF PERSPECTIVE 8.4% - Alefarm's first imperial gose with almost double the amount of fruit that we usually put in and a slight touch of salt. Super juicy and slightly sweet, it has a winter feel to it and is perfect for the cold and dark months. Contains malts, black currants, cinnamon, yeast, salt and water.

THE FOOD

Chef Thomas (@thepressbrisbane) has been busy researching the culinary delights of Scandinavian and has come up with an epic feast fit for the Nordic Gods.

ENTRE

To start we have LOHIKEITTO, a traditional Finnish salmon soup. Composed of a light cream broth, melt-in-your-mouth chunks of salmon and tons of fresh dill

THE MAIN

You are not going home hungry after VIKING BIRD GOD. A whole spatchcock skewered, smoked and roasted on a bed of apple, carrot and Rødkål (red cabbage) served with a roasted potatoes and berry sauce.

THE DESSERT

One dessert is never enough. That is why we are serving up two Scandinavian classics. Fastelavnsbolle and Kannelbullar. Our Fastelavnsbolle is choux pastry filled with marzipan cream and whipped cream while Kannelbullar is a Swedish cinnamon roll.
