Asia House Briefing with Satvinder Singh, Deputy Secretary-General for the ASEAN Economic Community

The Deputy Secretary-General for ASEAN Economic Community (AEC), Satvinder Singh, will brief Asia House Corporate Members on ASEAN economic progress at an exclusive, off-the-record briefing on 7 October. 

ASEAN averaged 5% GDP growth each year between 2015 and 2024, with major gains in trade and investment. But national instability, armed conflict between member states, and the continued tug-of-war between the US and China present new, dynamic challenges to ASEAN integration and economic growth.  

In his role at ASEAN, Singh advises the Secretary-General and leads the ASEAN Economic Community Department to implement key economic integration initiatives, including the AEC Blueprint 2025 and its forthcoming successor, the AEC Strategic Plan. 

Previously, Singh was Assistant Chief Executive Officer for Trade Connectivity & Business Services at Enterprise Singapore, where he played a key role in strengthening Singapore’s position as a regional trading hub and led digitalisation efforts during the COVID-19 pandemic.
