ASID New England is proud to support a unified advocacy initiative working to secure legal recognition and independent practice rights for interior designers in each state within New England. Through the chapter's involvement in the Consortium for Interior Design with the Council for Interior Design Qualification (CIDQ) and International Interior Design Association (IIDA) New England, we are advocating for legislation that allows NCIDQ-certified interior designers to independently submit drawings for permits, lead projects, and contribute fully to the built environment.

Interior designers are trained to create spaces that protect public health, safety, and welfare. Yet in many states, these professionals are still unable to practice to the full extent of their education and expertise. Our goal is to change that—but we can’t do it without your support.
