Investing in the Future: The John Scott Legacy Scholarship Fund

One of the most meaningful aspects of this year’s ASID Illinois Holiday Celebration is our commitment to growing the John Scott Legacy Scholarship Fund, newly established by the family of John Scott. Through this initiative, ASID Illinois hopes to support the next generation of interior designers by creating opportunities for students pursuing careers in our profession.

This year, 100% of the funds raised through our holiday party sweepstakes will go directly to the John Scott Legacy Scholarship Fund. We are excited to announce that the first scholarships from this fund will be awarded at our ASID Illinois Student Event in February 2027! This is an important milestone in bringing the fund's mission to life and providing meaningful support to emerging design professionals.

Our goal is to grow this fund into an annual tradition, building its impact year after year and creating lasting opportunities for future interior designers.

A strong design community starts with investing in the people who will shape its future. Scholarships can help ease the financial burden of pursuing an education, encourage emerging talent, and create opportunities for students to develop the skills and knowledge needed to succeed in the interior design industry.

How You Can Make a Difference

We invite our members, industry partners, and friends of ASID Illinois to join us in supporting this important initiative. Donations to the John Scott Legacy Scholarship Fund are always welcome, and 100% of contributions will go directly toward growing the fund. Every donation, regardless of size, helps us build a stronger future for our profession.

Interested in donating a sweepstakes item? We welcome vendors and industry partners who would like to contribute a product, gift certificate, experience, or other exciting item to our holiday party sweepstakes. Your generosity will help make the event even more special while supporting an incredible cause. Please reach out to ASID Illinois to learn more about donating an item or making a contribution to the fund.

A heartfelt thank-you to the Scott family for establishing this meaningful fund and to Cambria for making the first significant donation in support of its future. We are grateful for your generosity and commitment to the next generation of design professionals.

Together, we can honor John Scott’s legacy while investing in the future of interior design in Illinois.
