Join Writing WA for an insigthful and enlightening seminar, Ask a Publisher with literary Icon Terriann White. In this session, Terriann will explore a life spent in writing and publishing, sharing her expertise on what matters (and what doesn't) in the contemporary literary landscape, and how writers are selected for publicaiton. Whether you're an emerging writer or an established author, Terriann will provide invaluable tips on the publishing industry and ways to help you and your work stand out from the crowd.
About the Presenter
Terri-ann White spent 25 years at The University of Western Australia as a professor and as founding director of Institute of Advanced Studies (1999–2011) and director of UWA Publishing (2006–2020). She is currently a Senior Honorary Fellow in the Vice-Chancellery at UWA.
Terri-ann White’s fiction and non-fiction writing has been published widely. Over the past two decades she has been a passionate collaborator with other artists: dancers, visual artists and musicians. Terri-ann has been involved in many arts and cultural organisations in Australia, as a practitioner and a board member. She spent 14 years publishing books at UWA Publishing and in 2021, she established a new Perth-based publishing house, Upswell Publishing.
