Event description

Children's Autism Foundation brings you ASK - Autism Spectrum Knowledge,  a workshop for all professionals who engage with children & young people on the Autism Spectrum.

In this full morning workshop hosted by MoE Whangarei we will cover Autism essentials and provide practical tips & strategies on how to better support a child or young person on the Autism Spectrum:

  • What is ASD?
  • What might ASD look like in the learning environment?
    - school refusals/absconding from school
    - emotional regulation
    - undiagnosed children & undiagnosed girls
    - stand downs & exclusions
    - oppositional/avoidant behaviour
  • Defining autism and anxiety
  • An overview of sensory issues
  • How can we better support children on the Autism Spectrum?
  • Practical tools & strategies to implement in your classroom or practice

We aim to include as many of your real case studies as possible so come prepared to discuss & share.
