Asking Disabled Young People: What Matters To You? (paid consultation)
Event description
Have your say: come tell us how organisations can better support Disabled young people!
Get the Go-Ahead is a project run by Women's Health East in partnership with Youth Disability Advocacy Service. We're running a series of focus groups with Disabled young people to better understand how youth organisations and support services can be accessible and welcoming for Disabled young people.
What's involved
Come to one 2-hour focus group, online or in person. The focus groups will be facilitated by two Disabled facilitators. You'll be asked questions about accessibility, what makes an event or organisation welcoming for you, and what you want people who work with Disabled young people to understand.
What will happen after
We'll put all feedback from the focus groups together and create resources aimed at people who work with Disabled young people, telling them how they can be more accessible and welcoming. The resources will be public, and you can see and use them too.
Who
These focus groups are open to Disabled young people across Victoria.
Disabled: This is a broad category, and we know people might use different language to describe themselves. In this project we recognise a broad definition of disability, including physical disability, intellectual disability, neurodivergence, mental illness, chronic illness, cognitive disability, sensory disability.
Young people: aged 18 to 25.
Payment
You'll be paid $150 for your time.
When and where
All focus groups will cover the same topics. Please only register for one.
