ReelAbilities Film Festival Columbus film festival is showing another film this fall at the Columbus Museum of Art. We are so excited to be showcasing the film, "Name me Lawand" directed by Edward Lovelace on October 20th! We are also excited to be partnering with the musuem to offer a free ASL Lead tour of their special exhibtions, Ming Smith: Transcendence and Fragments of Epic Memory. ReelAbilities is a groundbreaking film festival that promotes awareness and appreciation of lives, stories and artistic expressions of people with different abilities, all through the easily accessible art form of film.

3:30- 4:00 PM- Optional ASL lead tour of Columbus Museum of art special exhibitions Ming Smith: Transcendence and Fragments of Epic Memory
Film Description: Lawand is a young Kurdish boy, deaf since birth. After a treacherous journey and a year in a Dunkirk refugee camp, the help of a deaf volunteer brings his family to Derby, where Lawand joins the Royal School for the Deaf. As he grows older, the film follows his dramatic progress learning British Sign Language, revealing a bright, charismatic and inquisitive boy who discovers friendship and a new way to express himself.
Event description: The film will be screened in the auditorium which is right across from atrium. After the film, everyone who is joining us on the ASL lead tour will meet us at the auditorium which is right across from the atrium at 3:30.

Parking: Free street parking is available. The Museum also has an on-site lot with available parking for $7.
